Description

This data repository contains the experimental data from a study investigating the adsorptive removal of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA) using biochar as the adsorbent. The dataset provides detailed measurements of PFNA and PFDA concentrations over time, as well as the corresponding biochar characteristics, including particle size and weight. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of biochar, derived from different sources, in adsorbing long-chain perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs) from aqueous solutions. The dataset includes time-resolved concentration data of PFNA and PFDA, which are critical for understanding the kinetics of adsorption. The experiments were conducted with specific biochar sizes ranging from 841 to 1000 microns and at a consistent biochar weight of 25 mg. Researchers and practitioners can use this dataset to model adsorption kinetics, evaluate the performance of biochar as an adsorbent, and develop predictive models for PFCA removal in water treatment processes. The dataset is suitable for use in various analytical and computational studies, including those focused on environmental engineering, water treatment, and adsorption process optimization.
