Description

This dataset contains information on residential heating system operation in Ireland. The dataset is drawn from high frequency smart thermostats that record internal temperature, set-point values, and boiler operation data approximately every three minutes. The data covers a period of 24 months from 1 October 2019 until 30 September 2021 from 9,815 separate properties. The dataset reports aggregate data at a spatial level based on postal routing keys (Eircodes)

Steps to reproduce

Data loggers recorded properties' heating system operation at approximately 3-minute frequency. The current dataset presents aggregated data detailing the proportion of time space heating is switched on, and boiler is firing plus some other ancillary information. The data is reported using spatial (Eircode postal routing code), month, and 2-hour dimensions, i.e., each row comprises information for a Eircode area, within a specific month and time. For each row of data the underlying number of properties and data observations is reported. The threshold for data reported is 20 properties (i.e., rows/data based on fewer than 20 properties were excluded).
