Data supporting the analysis of nutrient and logistics burdens in India’s cereal exports
Description
This dataset contains the supporting analytical data for the study “Embedded nutrient and logistics burdens in India’s cereal exports: A resource-flow accounting framework for rice, wheat and maize.” It includes annual crop activity and export data for 2000–2023, reconstructed nutrient indicators, export-attributed NPK burdens, fertiliser-import diagnostics, domestic-retained production, uncertainty analysis, and the 2024–25 logistics extension used in the study. The workbook also provides the main parameters and data sources needed to interpret the calculations. Underlying source data were obtained from publicly available sources including FAOSTAT, the World Bank and APEDA, as described in the manuscript and workbook. Derived quantities are model-based estimates generated for this study and should be interpreted in accordance with the assumptions and limitations described in the manuscript.
