Description

This dataset provides multi-cycle rice transplanting dates for southern China in the year 2021, with a spatial resolution of 10 meters. The dataset comprises three folders labeled with the suffixes 1, 2, and 3, corresponding to the first, second, and third rice growth cycles, respectively. For fields with a single rice-crop intensity, the pixels have values exclusively in the '1' suffix folders. Fields with double rice-crop intensity have pixels with values in both the '1' and '2' suffix folders. Similarly, fields with triple rice-crop intensity have pixels with values in the '1', '2', and '3' suffix folders. The pixel values represent Day of Year (DOY) values, with most values ranging from 0 to 365. A few values are less than 0 or greater than 365. Values less than 0 indicate events that occurred in the previous year, while values greater than 365 indicate events in the following year.

Steps to reproduce

1. For each folder, mosaic all image slices within it to obtain three mosaic images corresponding to the three folders: mosaic1, mosaic2, and mosaic3. 2. Obtain the Rice Cropping Intensity (RCI) image: a. At a specific pixel location, if mosaic1 has a non-null value, and the other two bands have null values, that location corresponds to a field with a single rice cropping intensity, and RCI is assigned a value of 1. b. At a specific pixel location, if mosaic1 and mosaic2 have non-null values, and mosaic3 has a null value, that location corresponds to a field with double rice cropping intensity, and RCI is assigned a value of 2. c. At a specific pixel location, if mosaic1, mosaic2, and mosaic3 have non-null values, that location corresponds to a field with triple rice cropping intensity, and RCI is assigned a value of 3. 3. Obtain a phenological date for the one rice growth cycle in single RCI fields by masking out areas in mosaic1 where RCI is not equal to 1. 4. Obtain phenological dates for the two rice growth cycles in double RCI fields by masking out areas in mosaic1 and mosaic2 where RCI is not equal to 2. 5. Obtain phenological dates for the three rice growth cycles in triple RCI fields by masking out areas in mosaic1, mosaic2, and mosaic3 where RCI is not equal to 3.
