Bariatric surgery is currently considered an effective treatment for patients with morbid obesity, leading to improvement in rates of associated comorbidities. Nonetheless, there is a lack of evidences about effect of weight bearing on bone structure and what a rapid loss of body mass as a result of bariatric surgery may cause.
