This is the event-history of the development of the local BRTIS analyzed from the perspective of the realization of the seven TIS functions. Column A includes the four development periods of the local BRTIS: emergence, shaping, expansion, and diversification. Column B indicated the major events, actors, and development that came into play in differnet development stages of the local BRTIS. Column C indicated the years of each of the events Column D describes each event / process (n=212). Columns E to K indicate the seven TIS functions: Entrepreneurial activities, Knowledge development, Knowledge diffusion, Guidance of search, Market formation, Resource mobilization, Creation of legitimacy. Columns M to Q indicate the geographical level where the respective event took place, i.e. local, regional, national, EU, and global. The cause-effect analysis of the seven TIS functions is presented by the arrows in the Columns E to K. If two functions are connected by an arrow, it means that the first funciton led to the fulfillment of the second function. The period from 1930s to 1970s is a structuration period and is not included in the analyssi of the technological development of the local BRTIS. The event in this period are presented only for the general context. The technological development of the local BRTIS begins in 1983 (beginning of the Emergence stage) which is the year whe the first event related to the technologcial development of the local BRTIS took place.
