Trends in reptile adenovirus prevalence indicate low screening of pathogens worldwide and high propagation risks in China
Description
We focused on Chinese reptile trade through online monitoring and assessed the potential risks of pathogens through transmission. These data were collected from the three main Chinese online trade platforms, Taobao, Jingdong, and Pinduoduo. We screenshot every record that showed species and transaction and included it in this file.

We searched the phrases “爬行动物活体” (= alive reptiles), “活体龟” (= alive turtles), “活体蜥蜴” (= alive lizards), “活体蛇” (= alive snakes), “活体鳄鱼” (= alive crocodiles) and “蚓蜥” (= worm lizards) on three Chinese trade platforms, Taobao, Jingdong, and Pinduoduo. We included all the shops that were selling reptiles from 06 March to 04 April 2022. Then we used these shops to find each sale's information, including the species name, photos ( when we were not sure about their names), transaction (when transaction didn't show, we used the number of buyers who left comments ). We tracked 30 days of all shops to ensure that we included all useful trade records. We screenshot every record.
