BISE Dataset-Balinese Script for Imaginary Spelling using Electroencephalogram Signals
Description
Balinese Script for Imaginary Spelling using Electroencephalogram (BISE dataset) is a collection of data related to pronouncing and imagining Balinese script based on electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. This dataset is essential to collect because It consists of Spelling Activity (SA) and Spelling Imagination (SI) datasets. Providing SA and SI datasets is very important to ensure that the EEG signal pattern for the spoken script matches the imagined script. So, this dataset would actually need to be provided. In addition, previous researchers have yet to collect an imagined spalling dataset for Balinese script. The participants used as samples in this study were 31 healthy people, 8 men, and 23 women, from students of Ganesha University of Education. Participants' EEG signals were recorded using Contec KT 88 with 16 channels. This dataset consists of 3 types of data: (1) Raw data for the 1st trial, (2) Raw data for the 2nd trial, and (3) Raw data for calm conditions. The first trial data contains EEG signal data from participants who experimented with pronouncing and imagining 36 Balinese scripts sequentially and randomly (18 scripts pronounced (SA) and imagined (SI) sequentially and 18 scripts pronounced and imagined randomly). Furthermore, the raw data for the second trial contains EEG signal data from participants who experimented with pronouncing (SA) and imagining (SI) 12 Balinese vowel scripts sequentially and randomly (6 vowel scripts pronounced and imagined sequentially and 6 vowel scripts pronounced and imagined randomly). Finally, the raw data for the calm condition contains EEG signal data from participants in a calm condition before starting the experiment.

Steps to reproduce
a. Preparation of research documents Some documents that must be prepared to collect EEG signal data in this study include: 1) Research information documents, 2) Consent Form, 3) Preparation of health information b. Preparation of stimulus media This study will use two types of stimulus media, namely Balinese script stimulus media. This stimulus media is in the form of alphabet images containing speech sounds. Each participant will be asked to pronounce all Balinese letters. Through this scenario, an EEG signal pattern related to Balinese letters can be produced c. Submission of ethical permission To ensure that the recording process runs well and smoothly and minimizes its negative impact on participants, the research team proposes ethical permission for this recording. The following is the ethical permission that has been approved by the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education d. Determine participants The procedure for determining participants is based on research conducted by Koelstra et al, Katsigiannis and Ramzan, and research conducted by Miranda Correa et al. e. Recording process This scenario is carried out in 2 cycles for each participant, with different recording times and days. Each participant in each scenario will practice spelling and imagining the Balinese alphabet based on the stimulus media provided.
