Uniaxial compression and direct tension test data of cylindrical marble samples. The marble samples had a height of 100 mm and a diameter of 50 mm, and the primary mineral grains size vary from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm. A uniform loading rate of 0.15 mm/min was applied during the tests. Notably, during direct tension test, we used Loctite E-120 HP epoxy adhensive to securely bonded the marble sample to the loading plate. After seven days of curing at ambient temperature, this adhesive attains a tensile strength of 41 MPa, significantly surpassing the inherent tensile strength of the rock materials.
