Description

Sequences of parasites in Philornis downsi, an invasive parasitic Dipteran species, were obtained via PCR tests targeting the 18S rRNA gene of the Trypanosomatidae family. This is a sequence alignment to identify the trypanosomatid sequences obtained from P. downsi adults in the Galapagos Islands. This alignment includes known insect trypanosomatid sequences and avian trypanosome outgroup sequences. This alignment was made in MEGA6, using Clustal W.
