Data from a survey on sustainability practices and food waste management administered to 548 public and private primary and secondary school headteachers in Catalonia (Spain) in 2018. The data include items relative to the canteen management system (section 2), the school sustainability profile (section 3), perceptions on food waste management and the level of interest in potential initiatives to fight against food waste (sections 4 and 5). School-level attributes (e.g. size, infrastructure) are also included.
