Description

This research aimed to investigate the end-products of free radical-induced degradation of rosuvastatin. To induce the radical degradation, an aqueous solution of rosuvastatin was irradiated using different doses of gamma radiation (50-1000 Gy) under oxidative conditions. Rosuvastatin and related degradation products were separated on the nanoC18 column under gradient elution, and identification was carried out on the hyphenated nanoAcquity UPLC system and nanoESI-QTOF Synapt G2-Si mass spectrometer (Waters, Milford, MA, USA). The instrument parameters were set using the MassLynx software v4.1. (Waters, Milford, MA, USA). After the elemental composition analysis, the nine major products of forced degradation were fragmented in MS/MS analysis and structurally determined. Here, we represent raw MS and MS/MS data of five irradiated rosuvastatin samples that indicated the presence of rosuvastatin degradation products.
