Description

This data repository contains two Sentinel-2 scenes in the .SAFE (Standard Archive Format for Europe) archive structure made available by the European Space Agency (ESA). The data is used as a demonstrator to show the structure of .SAFE archives and how to handle them. The repository contains Sentinel-2 data in two processing levels: The S2A_MSIL2A_*.SAFE dataset contains a scene that was corrected for atmospheric effects (i.e., surface reflectance values, Level-2A). The S2A_MSIL1C*.SAFE datasets in contrast, contains Sentinel-2 data at top-of-atmosphere level (i.e., Level-1C).

Steps to reproduce

Sentinel-2 data can be downloaded free-of-charge from Copernicus Open Access Hub (https://scihub.copernicus.eu/) or any of the DIAS platforms (e.g., CREODIAS, https://creodias.eu/). The data is delivered as zipped archives and can be unzipped using, e.g., 7zip.
