Utilizing DHIS2 platform in decreasing child immunization dropout and increase immunization timeliness

The study is about examining the effectiveness of DHIS-2 individual-based electronic immunization registry, combined with short message service reminders, in decreasing the child immunization dropout rate and improving vaccination timeliness in the Duhok Governorate. The study targeted 390 children under one year old for the PENTA1 to PENTA3 vaccine covering the period from December 2023 through July 2024. The results showed a statistically significant decrease in the PENTA-1 to PENTA-3 dropout rate among children enrolled in the intervention group (5.7% compared to 29.7% in the control group, pvalue< 0.001).
