This dataset contains information regarding the patented methods (both application and granted patents) for the industrial production of acetic acid. Two databases were used for data mining: Espacenet (a free of charge database provided by the European Patent Office) and Orbit Intelligence (a fee-based professional database provided by Questel). The file entitled "Acetic acid production_Espacenet) contains information related to title, inventors, applicant, publication numbers, earliest priority, IPC, CPC codes, publication dates, earliest publication, family numbers. The file entitled "Acetic acid production_Orbit" contains information related to publication numbers, publication dates, title, abstract, current assignee, and claims.
