Description

This data is related to performance values in relation to criteria for assessing European countries in terms of sustainable share of renewable energy. It consists of indicators related to the share of energy from renewable sources included in the SHARES (Short assessment of renewable energy sources) framework focused on the harmonized calculation of the share of energy from renewable sources for EU countries. Data are provided in the form of a two-dimensional decision matrix with values in KTOE (kilotonnes of oil equivalent) per 100 000 inhabitants. The data was collected for 2022. The data is available in XLSX and CSV file. A detailed description of the data is provided in a PDF named data.pdf

Steps to reproduce

The dataset was collected from https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/energy/database/additional-data#Short%20assessment%20of%20renewable%20energy%20sources%20(SHARES). It was downloaded as XLSX file called SHARES summary results. Then, we selected the data for 2022 considered in this research for chosen 29 countries and 18 criteria and we placed them in a separate file. Data in the mentioned database are available in the unit KTOE (Thousand tonnes of oil equivalent). However, in an attempt to more reliably and objectively assess countries in relation to the use of RES, this research employed data representing the share of each measure in each sector using RES (Electricity generation, Transport, Heating and Cooling, Gross final consumption of energy from RES) converted to data in KTOE (kilotonnes of oil equivalent) per 100 000 inhabitants. The data is available in XLSX and CSV file.
