Datasets Comparison
Version 1
Drought Analysis Dataset of 38 Districts in Bangladesh (2012-2024) – NASA POWER Data
Description
This dataset contains climate and meteorological parameters for 38 districts of Bangladesh, extracted from the NASA POWER API for the time period 2012-2024. The dataset is intended for drought analysis, climate modeling, and environmental studies.
The dataset is provided in two formats:
1. Individual district CSV files – Climate data for each of the 38 districts separately.
2. Combined CSV file – A merged dataset containing data for all districts in one file.
Data Source: NASA POWER API (https://power.larc.nasa.gov/)
Parameters Included: The dataset includes the following climate variables:
1. Solar Radiation Data:
ALLSKY_SFC_SW_DWN – All Sky Surface Shortwave Downward Irradiance (MJ/m²/day)
CLRSKY_SFC_SW_DWN – Clear Sky Surface Shortwave Downward Irradiance (MJ/m²/day)
ALLSKY_SFC_SW_DNI – All Sky Surface Shortwave Downward Direct Normal Irradiance (MJ/m²/day)
ALLSKY_SFC_SW_DIFF – All Sky Surface Shortwave Diffuse Irradiance (MJ/m²/day)
2. Temperature & Humidity Data:
T2M – Temperature at 2 Meters (°C)
T2MDEW – Dew/Frost Point at 2 Meters (°C)
TS – Earth Skin Temperature (°C)
T2M_MAX – Maximum Temperature at 2 Meters (°C)
T2M_MIN – Minimum Temperature at 2 Meters (°C)
QV2M – Specific Humidity at 2 Meters (g/kg)
RH2M – Relative Humidity at 2 Meters (%)
3. Atmospheric & Wind Data:
PS – Surface Pressure (kPa)
WS2M – Wind Speed at 2 Meters (m/s)
WS2M_MAX – Maximum Wind Speed at 2 Meters (m/s)
WS2M_MIN – Minimum Wind Speed at 2 Meters (m/s)
4. Soil Moisture & Wetness Data:
GWETTOP – Surface Soil Wetness
GWETROOT – Root Zone Soil Wetness
GWETPROF – Profile Soil Moisture
Additionally, each file contains Latitude, Longitude, and Region for geographic reference.
