Description

I. Top Level Description This dataset archives simulations with Community Climate System Model version 3 (CCSM3) of the dust cycle during a variety of hypothetical conditions during the Late Paleozoic Ice Age. They were run on the bluefire machine operated by the Computational Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in 2011 and 2012. The simulations lpia.highstand.vegetation_h2 and lpia.glaciation.big_h2 were used in Marshall et al. (2016), the simulation lpia.lowstand.glaciation.huge_h8rf.tar was used in Sur et al. (2015), and all of the simulations were used in Soreghan et al. (2015). Those publications should be consulted about the design and use of these simulations. All of the simulations are hybridized off simulations archived on Mendeley and associated with Heavens et al. (2015).
