Description

Gallo et al. explore how cells repair ssDNA that arises from exogenous and endogenous DNA replication stress. They reveal that recruitment of error-prone polymerases to stressed replication forks results in mutagenic repair of ssDNA. These findings point to an expanded role of error-prone polymerases in replicating the eukaryotic genome.
