Daniele ZavagnoDescription
Data refer to two experiments aimed at testing the SWYF method. In exp. 1, participants are requested to judge the size of out-of-sight handheld spheres (Test spheres) by finding their match on a visual scale made of objects of the same shape and organized from left-smallest to right-biggest (haptic-to-visual matching). In exp. 2, a second group of participants are asked to find a match for the same test spheres visually presented, using the same visual scale (visual-to-visual matching).

Test timuli were 4 spheres measuring respectively 30, 38, 46, and 50 mm. A visual matching scale of actual spheres was created. Participants were randomly assigned to 1 of three groups distinguished by visual matching scale distance: 30, 160 or 290 cm
