The role of laughter therapy in adults: Life satisfaction and anxiety control. A systematic review with meta-analysis
Description
This study proposes the hypothesis that laughter therapy has a positive impact on emotional well-being by reducing anxiety levels and improving life satisfaction in adults. Specifically, it examines various laughter therapy techniques, including laughter yoga, and their effects both globally and within groups. In these files, you will find the .xlsx tables containing the data extracted from the studies—one for Anxiety and another for Life Satisfaction—the Cochrane ROB2 used to assess the risk of bias, and the analytical scripts from the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software (CMA) that were used to obtain the results. The use of the latter is under licence.

The data were extracted from articles obtained through various search strategies tailored to each database. The risk of bias was assessed according to the recommendations of Cochrane's ROB2. The authors refined these data and created tables in Microsoft Excel, which were later analysed using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software. This software is licensed, and its use is supported by manuals available on its official website.
