"Dataset Achievements of Indonesian Elite Pencak Silat Athletes"
Description
The performance of elite athletes in competition is influenced by their anthropometry and physical condition, notably in 21st-century world championships. All trainers in Indonesia are required to incorporate coaching competency skills using a sports science approach to keep up with the rising success of Pencak Silat internationally. The elite Pencak Silat athletes' physical condition, including their body mass index, body fat percentage, and physical condition, as well as the factors that affect it, such as how challenging it is to become a world champion, can all be evaluated using this dataset. There isn't much research on athletes' accomplishments among these factors, according to the literature. Datasets are important when comparing them to data from research that were conducted comparably in other areas. Data can also be used to construct action plans that integrate psychological and physical aspects into a cohesive whole, as well as modifications or treatments that best complement elite athletes' programs for improving their performance. This dataset provides information on the gender, BMI, body fat percentage, and physical condition of Indonesia's top Pencak Silat competitors at the XXXII Cambodia 2023 Sea Games. In this study, 20 elite Indonesian Pencak Silat athletes served as samples, with a purposive sampling method utilized to pick a maximum of 12 men and 8 women. From August 2022 until January 21, 2023, tests and measurements of competitors' physical condition are conducted to help elite athletes win the championship. The research data were analyzed using partial correlation statistical analysis and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The selection of martial arts athletes by coaches and administrators can be aided by this dataset. In the future, these datasets can be compared to more precise data from developing nations
