The data describes the main hydrochemical variables of the study area in the municipality of San Vicente El Salvador.


Steps to reproduce

Based on Bogomolov & Silin-Bekchurin, 1962), Barrera-de-Calderón et al (2021), Cerón et al (2021), and Barberena-Moncada et al (2021), the hydro-geochemical characteristics of the water were obtained from the sampling in 14 rivers, 20 artisanal wells, 15 springs during the dry and rainy seasons. Taking measurements of physicochemical parameters such as: temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, electrical conductivity, cations (Na, K, Ca, Mg, total Fe) and anions (HCO3, Cl, SO-24, CO3-2). These species were analyzed with the objective of characterizing the chemical composition of the water in the different environments evaluated, in such a way that it would serve as information to the community in the consumption and use of water resources. The sampling periods were carried out by campaigns defined by the times corresponding to the two seasons (rainy and dry). Regarding the analyzes of the physicochemical parameters, they were measured in situ. In addition, in the case of anions and cations, water samples were taken from wells, springs, and surface water, at different points in the study area, considering the steps of the chain of custody for samples that are transferred to the laboratory. In relation to the data analysis, it was carried out using the Piper triangular diagram, using the specialized program for groundwater Aqua-Chem. Likewise, the existence of the most important analyzes was verified using maps of iso-concentrations of the different sampling points.
