Description

This dataset provides supplementary material that supported the paper entitled "Do Latitudinal and bioclimatic gradients drive parasitism in Odonata?", submitted to the International Journal of Parasitology. Data consist in .nex files for phylogenetic trees of Odonata adapted from Waller, J.T., Svensson, E.I., 2017. Body size evolution in an old insect order: No evidence for Cope’s Rule in spite of fitness benefits of large size. Evolution (N. Y). 71, 2178–2193. https://doi.org/10.1111/evo.13302. These trees contain only those species for which we found enough data to conduct the analysis. We used Generalised Linear Mixed Models using Markov Chain Monte Carlo analysis with bioclimatic variables and data of parasite prevalence retrieved from literature. These data allowed us to build Bayesian phylogenetic comparative models to test if latitudinal and bioclimatic gradients drive parasitism in Odonata.
