Dataset: synthetic pack of spheres for image-based simulations

The dataset contains the locations and sizes of the spherical particles generated by the discrete element method that resembles the soil studied in Zhou et al. (2014), Water Resources Research, 50(12), 9630-9655, which serves as a platform to conduct image-based freezing simulations. This has been used for the validation exercise in our manuscript entitled "Image-based estimation of freezing characteristic curve for water-saturated porous media" submitted to Water Resources Research.
