Description

This dataset comprises oceanographic measurements from a research cruise in the western tropical North Pacific Ocean. It includes two sheets: Metadata: Contains discrete water sample data from various stations and depths. Key parameters include: Location: Station codes, depth (m), longitude (°E), and latitude (°N). Stations span a meridional transect along 143°E from 0° to 22°N and a zonal transect along the equator from 143°E to 157°E. Physical properties: Salinity (PSU), temperature (°C), and derived parameters like N² (buoyancy frequency squared) and K (turbulent diffusivity). Nutrients: Concentrations of DIP, NO₃⁻, NO₂⁻, DSi, DON, and DOC (all in μM). Isotopes: δ¹⁵N-NO₃, δ¹⁸O-NO₃, and δ¹⁵N-DON (‰), which are useful for studying nitrogen cycling. Additional: SPEDON (possibly a rate or index), Recovery, and ln(SPEDON).
