A total of 699 patients with HD from 11 facilities in Guizhou Province, China were included in the study. Capacitance of membrane and resting metabolic rate (RMR) were estimated by bioelectrical impedance analyzer that was set on a frequency of 50 kHz. Anthropometric data were collected by a standard measurement protocol, and the upper arm muscle circumference (AMC) was calculated. Biochemical nutritional and dialysis parameters were obtained. Spearman analysis were used to analyze the relationship between Cm, anthropometric data and nutritional factors. Areas under the curves (AUCs) of receiver operating characteristic and logistic regression analysis were used to test the predictive accuracy of RMR in detecting PEW.
