Description

The following dataset contains the experimental and numerical investigation of compressive stress in foam-filled close cell architectured materials. Quasi-static compression testing was performed on filled and unfilled lattice structures at 5 mm/min to obtain stress vs. strain data. The data was used to calculate mechanical properties such as energy absorption and peak stress. For numerical investigation, tensile properties of parent material (PETG) and foam were obtained from ASTM D638-14 and ISO 3386-1 respectively. Elastic and plastic properties were extracted for PETG to simulate the mechanical behavior. Videos of compression testing and numerical simulation are included for comparison.
