Description

The presented data are the parameters of the Cross Aisle Location Problem (CALP). The data (file “Cross Aisles Location Problem - data set - Redmer_A.xlsx”) are organized in 3 sheets as follows: - sheet “General data” contains both indices (their upper values) and parameters describing warehouse (its layout, demotions, storage capacity) and storage strategy, i.e., the double-class-based storage strategy within/across location pattern. - sheet “Storage locations numbering” contains ordinal numbers l = 1, 2, 3, …, L of particular storage locations l labelled by Ll = {a, h, r, s} being the combinations of indices a, h, r, and s (see sheet “General data”) and defining storage strategy (in this case the aforementioned double-class-based storage strategy within/across location pattern) and also so called “warehouse map”. - sheet “Items retrieving probabilities” contains retrieving probabilities of particular stored items/SKUs i assigned to particular storage locations l. The data are a real life ones and were gathered in the logistics company keeping in the warehouse its client’s stock of decorative products. All the stored items (about 2 100 SKUs) are palletized. The warehouse with rectangular layout contains one front, one end and 17 (3,2 m wide and 73 m long) storage aisles perpendicular to the front/end ones. There are 27 rack bays with 3 slots each on each side, each level of each storage aisle. The dimensions of the warehouse counts for about 100 by 200 m (20 000 m2) giving about 2 750 storage locations on 5 levels (13 750 in total). The I/O point is located in the upper left corner of the warehouse. The double-class-based storage strategy including items’ retrieving probability and fragility is applied along with the S-shape routing method. There are 3 (ABC classification) retrieving probability based and 7 fragility based storage classes (21 in total). It is assumed the use of the full-turnover strategy to assign particular items to picking locations (level 0) within each of the 21 storage classes. About 650 picking locations remain idle. There is the only one 2,7 m wide cross aisle located exactly at the middle of the warehouse, i.e., at rack bay number 14. The manual (person-to-goods), low level, single order picking process with the picking locations (about 2 750) on the ground/zero level and storage locations (11 000) above them. Pickers can change storage aisles at the front one, end one, and at cross aisle as well. Average order (pick list size) amounts for 35 items.
