Description
This study investigates how the hindlimb joints of jerboas achieve jumping at specific velocities. This dataset shows the torque, power, and work at various joints in the hind limbs of jumping mice at both low and high speeds. Desert jerboas appear to use a predominantly sagittal-plane jumping strategy characterized by large normal forces, short stance phase duration, hip-centered positive work, ankle-mediated energy exchange, knee energy absorption, and MTP-mediated distal stabilization.
