Description
This dataset is in Excel format, covering 85 samples of national-level historic districts and towns in the Yangtze River Delta. It mainly includes five categories of information: basic information (name, location by province/city, type, etc.), economic data (tourism revenue, number of businesses, etc.), population data (permanent population, tourist volume, etc.), and location & transportation data (latitude/longitude, transportation accessibility, etc.). The data is directly readable and supports analyses related to the distribution of historical cultural tourism resources, economic contribution, and location differences of the Yangtze River Delta.

# Data Acquisition Description for the Yangtze River Delta National-Level Historic and Cultural Tourism Settlements Dataset All indicators in this dataset are collected and standardized from **public and authoritative data sources** to ensure data reliability and comparability. The specific acquisition methods are as follows: 1. **Basic attribute data** (name, type, batch, scenic area grade, etc.): Derived from the certified lists of national-level historical and cultural blocks, tourist and leisure blocks, and historical and cultural towns released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The data is standardized and entered after manual verification and deduplication. 2. **Nighttime light data** (2000/2022 average nighttime light values, variation rate): Adopts DMSP/OLS and VIIRS nighttime light remote sensing image data released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States. Buffer zones are delineated for each sample using ArcGIS software, followed by mean value extraction and variation rate calculation. 3. **Economic data** (tertiary industry GDP, per capita GDP, per capita disposable income, etc.): Sourced from provincial and municipal statistical yearbooks (2000-2023) and annual statistical bulletins on national economic and social development of districts and counties. The data is collated and converted into consistent units in accordance with a unified statistical caliber. 4. **Population data** (population density in buffer zones, county-level population density): Based on national census data (2000/2010/2020) and annual population statistical data of districts and counties, spatial interpolation and density calculation are performed using GIS spatial analysis tools. 5. **Location data** (distance from the periphery of upper-tier cities, distance from city centers): Geographic coordinates of samples and cities are obtained via the Amap Geocoding API. Straight-line distances are calculated using the spatial analysis module of ArcGIS. The scope of upper-tier cities is defined with reference to China's urban classification standards. All data has undergone missing value handling, outlier elimination, and unit standardization to ensure the comparability of samples across regions and types.
