Description

This dataset contains biophysical measurements designed to test the hypothesis that iodinated contrast agents can directly affect cytoskeletal proteins. Using purified actin, we examined how the clinically used agent Iomeprol influences actin structure, stability, and nucleotide binding. The data include thermal denaturation profiles, fluorescence‑based ATP‑binding assays, and polymerization measurements. Together, these experiments show that Iomeprol interacts with actin, induces detectable structural alterations, and reduces ATP affinity. Because actin is essential for cellular mechanics, these findings provide a molecular framework for interpreting how contrast agents may contribute to cellular stress in sensitive tissues.
