Description

The data presented here shows the results of numerical simulations on micro-lattice based heat sinks. Heat sinks from two different topologies of lattice structures i.e. Pyramidal and Tetrahedral are constructed by varying their L/D ratios. Fluid flow and heat transfer simulations are carried out for laminar Reynolds number in the range of 300-700 and the results are analyzed in terms of base plate temperature, convective heat transfer coefficient, friction factor, pressure drop per unit length, pore Nusselt number, Rea goodness factor and Thermal efficiency index. The result of the numerical simulations are compared with the experimental studies in the literature and the conclusions are drawn.
