I examined 113 peer-reviewed articles which are based on empirical research with children in relation to more than human within environmental education contexts published between 2009 and 2025. Systematic searches were conducted across four databases: Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar. Nine search term combinations were employed in each database to capture diverse terminological approaches: "multispecies" AND "environmental education" AND "children","more-than-human" AND "environmental education" AND "children","posthuman" AND "environmental education" AND "children","human-animal" AND "environmental education" AND "children","multispecies" AND "education" AND "children","more than human" AND "environmental education" AND "children","posthumanist" AND "environmental education" AND "children","interspecies" AND "environmental education" AND "children", "nonhuman" AND "environmental education" AND "children". Searches were limited to peer-reviewed journal articles in English. Each search was documented with database-specific identifiers (e.g., ERIC-S1, WoS-S2, Scopus-S3, Google Scolar-G1) to track retrieval patterns.
