Description

The dataset refer to the paper "Path towards decarbonization: The role of hydropower in the generation mix", submitted for publication to Energy Policy, and contains two folders. In the folder "Data" all relevant input data used in the simulations are reported in excel format, namely hourly production coefficients of photovoltaic and wind, hourly load demand and hourly lateral inflows of the equivalent hydro dam. All data refer to the time period 2016-2018. In the folder "Supplementary Material" there are two files. The .docx file "Optimization_Model_Formulation" containing all equations of the optimization model and the relevant explanations. The .xlsx file "Results_of_simulations" contains all results of the parametric study described in the paper.
