Description

The data is used to verify the impact of IT capabilities on corporate competitive advantage and whether dynamic capability plays a mediating role between them. So all the hypotheses in the study are about the three variables and their dimensions, namely: Hypothesis 1: Dynamic capability has significant positive effects on competitive advantage. H1A: Adaptive capacity has significant positive effects on competitive advantage. H1B: Absorptive capacity has significant positive effects on competitive advantage. H1C: Innovative capability has significant positive effects on competitive advantage. Hypothesis 2: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on dynamic capacity. H2A: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on adaptive capability. H2B: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on absorptive capability. H2C: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on innovative capability. Hypothesis 3: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on competitive advantage. H3A: Information technology capability has significant positive effects on differentiation. H3B: Information technology capability significant positive effect on low cost. Hypothesis 4: Dynamic capability mediates the relationship between information technology capability and competitive advantage. H4A: Adaptive capability mediates the relationship between information technology capability and competitive advantage. H4B: Absorptive capability mediates the relationship between information technology capability and competitive advantage. H4C: Innovative capability mediates the relationship between information technology capability and competitive advantage. The data comes from middle and senior managers of tourism enterprises in Henan Province, China, using an online anonymous questionnaire survey, and the collection period from 1st Sep 2023 to 31st Jan 2024. The first part of the data is shown by Likert 5-point scales to reflect the respondent's level of recognition of each question related to the variable, and the second part is about the respondent’s demographic information and information about companies they work for. The demographic profile contains age, gender, education background,business experience, position in the company. The information of companies involves main business, employees number, assets size, company property. Data processing and demographic analysis were completed using SPSS, and hypothesis test is conduct through AMOS. The finding reveals that all the other hypotheses can be supported, except for H1B. Therefore, future research can try to expand the subject, geographical scope and timeline of data collection, and may produce new conclusions.

The data is collected through the Questionnaire Star. It is one of the largest and most complete online questionnaire survey platforms in China now. Questionnaire editing, distribution and collection process can all be completed on this platform and after the questionnaire is designed, Questionnaire Star can generate a QR code or link for the edited questionnaire. Respondents only need to scan the code or click the link to see the questionnaire and choose whether to fill in the answer and complete all the content based on their personal wishes.
