Steps to reproduce

Slow scale anomalies: Four anomalous segments were synthesized by fortnightly subsampling of daily data (March to November 1978, December 1983 to July 1984, February to November 1990, and October 2009 to May 2010); Fast scale anomalies: Anomalous pulses added on July 15 and December 15, larger in magnitude than 99.9% of the daily variability for the respective data quartile and with a randomly chosen sign.
