Raw data from an independent behavior enrichment study on captive African lions in Zimbabwe. We investigated behaviors associated with different colored novel objects, and how behavior varied with group dynamics. We simultaneously presented a red and a green ball to each group and scored behavioral responses to them. Data includes groups of lions, number of lions per group, group type (male, female, mixed sex), Boomer Ball color (red or green enrichment object), age per group, number of trials, number of trials, minutes observed, and behaviors tested.
