Description

Any occurrence that does not fit into normal circumstances is considered a trauma, and it can result in extremely stressful and unhappy sentiments. Many such things happen in childhood like neglect, abuse, death of parent, etc. Following exposure to traumatic experiences, a persistent disorder that affects people known as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) develops. PTSD affects our relationships, mental health as well as physical health This online survey study was conducted on 600 physiotherapy students to check whether they are aware about this or not. So, the study concluded that physiotherapy students are aware about childhood traumas but they are not much aware about the term PTSD. It is necessary to have knowledge regarding PTSD and trauma and the role of physiotherapy in treating related symptoms.
