Description
We wanted to assess how many fractures of hand and forearm, that were diagnosed 77 late (later than 24 h after admisison), were visible in the WBCT on retrospection. Additionally, the influence of the time of day of the WBCT and slice thickness on the occurrence of late diagnoses should be examined.

Patient identification and data acquisition is published in Münn, F., Laun, R.A., Asmus, A. et al. Detection of fractures of hand and forearm in whole-body CT for suspected polytrauma in intubated patients. BMC Musculoskelet Disord 21, 49 (2020) (see Reference). The original database is available upon request. This Data consists of consisted of as selection of 12 cases with a late (> 24 h after admission) diagnosis of a fracture of the hand and/or forearm, 25 cases with a diagnosis within 24 h, and 7 control cases who had no injury. The original CT imaging was shown to two different radiologists of hospitals not involved in the treatment of the patients. They were asked to look for bony injuries of hand and forearm.
