TITLE- PREVALANCE OF MUSCULOSKELETAL INJURIES IN GYM GOING ADULTS: A SURVEY STUDY Background and Objective- Gym workouts have well documented advantages but despite of advantages participating in these activities can also lead to musculoskeletal injuries. This survey study aims to investigate how prevalent these injuries among gym going adults. By collecting data, we can come to know about the potential risk associated with gym exercise and also develop preventive measures. Methodology- A survey was done to evaluate musculoskeletal injuries for 317 participants. A self-designed survey questionnaire was created to data on demographics, duration of gym going , purpose of gym going and part of body got injured etc. For this Google form has been created and share via scanning QR code and online sites. Results- Result of the study is that out of 317 participant’s 85 participant’s experiences injury while doing gym exercises in the percentage of 27% and others will not. Most commonly injured part is shoulder in 35% participants. 55% of the participants accepting that there would be a relationship between the absence of instructor during training and injury and 45% were not accept that there could be any relationship. Conclusion- The present study shows that only 27% people in the gym experiences injuries. This study shows that there is the relationship between the presences of trainers and occurrence of injury. When there is trainer present in the gym at the time of performing exercise, the rate if occurrence of injury is less and vice versa.
