Description

This data includes the design file (STL) of an artifact which is the topic of a case study in the book Fundamentals of Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Metals (https://www.elsevier.com/books/fundamentals-of-laser-powder-bed-fusion-of-metals/yadroitsev/978-0-12-824090-8). The case study is described in Chapter 24 of this book. The microCT data of the manufactured artifact is also provided for readers and researchers who do not have access to microCT - here the image stack is in the folder. The artifact in this case was manufactured in Ti6Al4V using an EOS M290 machine using the standard process parameters for this material.

Steps to reproduce

MicroCT scan taken at 15 micron voxel size, further details found in above book in chapter 24. Step one - take STL file, step two - manufacture it by L-PBF, step three - check its dimensions using any tool such as microCT.
