Formal caregivers’ observations, willingness, and barriers to reporting elder abuse in Slovenia

This dataset contains cross-sectional survey data from 137 formal caregivers working with older adults in institutional and home-based care settings in Slovenia. The survey covers observed behaviors across five domains of elder abuse, perceived seriousness, willingness to report, actual reporting, reporting barriers, and selected sociodemographic and work-related characteristics. Psychological violence-related behaviors were observed most frequently, followed by neglect. Although respondents generally recognized elder abuse as serious and expressed high willingness to report it, no affirmative response was recorded for actual reporting. The data represent caregivers’ reported observations and perceptions and should not be interpreted as population prevalence estimates.
