Description

brazil_electrification_and _childhealth.dta compiles municipal health data from Brazil's DATASUS and merges households electrified by municipality from Luz Para Todos in Brazil. It contains information on household infrastructure (e.g., public water, garbage collection, and public sewage) along with additional information on health care and services (e.g., vaccinations and prenatal care visits). Additionally, I also include development indicators, such as municipal-level HDI in 2000 , municipal GDP per capita and income per capita (DATASUS). pnaddata.dta simply appends Brazil's PNAD surveys from 2001 to 2009, keeping information on household demographics, income, and household capital. This is used to see how household electrification spurred capital accumulation and changed energy use within the household.
