Threatened and protected species dataset from Kazakhstan

Description

The dataset presented herein relate to the size of the protected areas and forests and other wooded land, number of threatened and protected species (animals and plants) distribution of selected species from Kazakhstan. Table 1 shows the dates of the total areas under protection from 1993 to 2020 on which the included state nature reserve, state national natural parks, state nature reserve, state natural monuments of national significance, state natural monuments of local significance, state nature reserves of republican significance, state nature reserves of local importance, state protected areas, state botanical gardens of republican significance, state arboretum of republican significance, local arboretum of local importance, state (regional) natural parks and state Zoological parks of local significance. Table 2 shows the dates of Total forest and other wooded land area from 1992 to 2019 on which the included primary and planted forest and forest area designated for production (Forest area designated for protection of protected areas and places for biodiversity conservation and Forest area within protected areas). Table 3 and 4 present the numbers of observed threatened and protected species of animals and plants from 1990 to 2019. Of which number of species threatened, including critically endangered, endangered, and vulnerable. Table 5 presents the trends in the number and distribution of selected species from 1990 to 2019 (Saiga tatarica, Arhar (Ovis ammon), Snow leopard (Uncia)).
