Description

The dataset is compiled from two main sources: (a) agriculture-related data were obtained from the General Household Survey (GHS) panel data conducted by National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria and (b) the conflict data were compiled from Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED). The GHS survey was done as a part of the Living Standard Measurement Study (LSMS) integrated surveys. GHS collects information on various household, agriculture and community level variables in Nigeria based on a nationally representative sample. ACLED collects geo-coded information on armed conflict incidents in Africa and some countries in Asia. The dataset codes the non-state actors involved, date of incidents, interaction types, number of fatalities, and non-human damages. The dataset covers different types of violent and non-violent conflicts such as civil wars, remote violence against civilians, militia interaction, protests, riots, remote violence and non-violent transfer of territory
