Malcolm JenningsDescription
In about 1820 Robert Pocock of Gravesend Kent produced this list of plants that he had found growing in and around his home town. He also collected plants and created an herbarium. The herbarium and this list were given to the Natural History Museum in London in 1884 by G. M. Arnold. The Robert Pocock Herbarium Project found and documented the herbarium plants and this list was found in the museum archives. Together they provide a unique view of the flora of Gravesend in the early part of the 19th century.
