Description

Field measurements of static water levels of dug wells were done using a Solinst meter. The surface elevation data was taken from digital elevation model (DEM). Overlying strata was gotten from lithological sections of some representative productive wells in Garoua. Seasonal field measurements of groundwater and air temperature, pH, TDS of 164 dug wells using Trimeter groundwater and air temperature variation together with geology were used to infer the aquifer type. This study which assesses the vulnerability of the aquifer in Garoua with seasons will serve as a blueprint and help to raise awareness among the population on behavioral change in terms of integrated management groundwater resources but will also help to preserve natural resources. Data from this study will enable stakeholders to take necessary actions in preventing groundwater resources to pollution.
