EFFECTS OF AEROBIC TRAINING ON VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL FUNCTION AND ARTERIAL STIFFNESS IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS
Description
The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review of detailed clinical trials on the impacts of aerobic training (AT) on vascular and impaired arterial endothelial function in pre-hypertensive and hypertensive individuals, as well as to identify which moderating factors may influence its effects on the vascular health of this population. A systematic electronic search was conducted in the following databases: PUBMED, EMBASE, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SCOPUS, COCHRANE, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, PEDro, LILACS, and SciELO up to April 2026. Methodological quality was assessed using the PEDro scale. For the meta-analysis calculations, the effect measure used was the mean difference (MD) between the intervention group and the control group, along with the respective standard deviation. 5,483 studies were identified, of which 25 were eligible for meta-analysis.
