Data for: Removal of dissolved natural organic matter by the Al/Fe pillared clay-activated-Catalytic Wet Peroxide Oxidation: Statistical multi-response optimization
This dataset describes the first approach for the later optimized removal of dissolved Natural Organic Matter (NOM) using Catalytic Wet Peroxide Oxidation (CWPO) activated by an Al/Fe-pillared clay catalyst (Al/Fe-PILC). First of all, it is demonstrated the successful expansion of the starting natural clay from concentrated Al/Fe-precursors by powder XRD. Therefore, the statistical analysis of the experimental catalytic data via Response Surface Methodology allowed raising a multi-response surface, which evidenced the experiment ranges of the independent variables for which the catalytic degradation of NOM might be further optimized.
Steps to reproduce
1. Preparation and XRD analysis of the Al/Fe-pillared clay (Al/Fe-PILC) clay catalyst. 2. Identification of the most influential experimental factors, covariates, and responses of the CWPO degradation of dissolved NOM: Hydrogen peroxide dose and concentration of the Al/Fe-pillared clay catalyst. 3. Formulation and execution of the statistical, central composite design of experiments. 4. single-variable (Color removal; NOM carbon mineralization, and the fraction of the hydrogen peroxide consumption), and multivariate response surface plots optimizing the overall chemical treatment.
